Responsibilities:
- Ensure the IT systems, capabilities and communications are ready to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and JITC DoD Information Technology / National Security Systems ((IT/NSS) T&E mission
- Demonstrate expertise in a variety of systems and network administration concepts, practices, and procedures
- Provide consultation on complex projects and be a top-level contributor/specialist in the department
- Ensure correct technical requirements are met for supporting the government customer
- Establish, configure, maintain, and support internal and/or external networks for the organization
- Direct and support activities of the network control function
- Determine service quality levels for network transmission and performance and ensure the established levels are met
- Identify and resolve server hardware/software problems and ensures scalability and integration with other systems
- Optimize functionality of networks and systems, and diagnose and recover failed systems
- Responsible for backup/recovery procedures and creating/maintaining a disaster recovery plan
- Manage a TO and develop weekly and monthly activity reports
- Perform network administration support related assigned tasks designed to ensure network operations, security and configuration of systems and information assets by baselining network capabilities and protecting networks against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction
- Manage network and systems information systems configurations and security, including, network switching, router configs, disaster recovery, database protection, and software development.
- Analyze IT systems and applications configurations then recommend and develop effective network configuration security measures
- Evaluate IT infrastructure in terms of risk to the organization and establish controls to mitigate loss.
- Provide Network Administration IAW DoD, NIST, DISA, and JITC directives, guidance documents, and instructions
- Use your wide degree of creativity and latitude to lead and manage a group of IT professionals that either support T&E or execute IT T&E for JITC customers and clients
- Work with Mission Area Chief (MAC) in providing weekly and monthly reports to department management, executive, and government customers
Qualifications / Experience:
- Current DoD Secret clearance or higher eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field and 6+ years of related IT experience (Additional certifications, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- 4+ years of recent hands-on experience in specific network and cybersecurity IT fields and/or testing areas
- 2+ years of experience with DoD’s defense in depth architecture; the capabilities associated with the DoD architecture; and IA/CND Policies and Procedures
- DoDD 8570/8140 IAT / IAM Level II Certification. IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) or IAM Level II (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO)
- Willing and available to travel 10 - 20% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent and relevant hands-on cybersecurity and T&E of an IT/NSS T&E project that includes all phases of a T&E life cycle in the areas of Developmental, Operational, Cybersecurity, Unified Capabilities, Joint Interoperability, Verification and Validation, and Standards Conformance and Compliance testing
