Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of IT systems administrators that ensure correct technical requirements are met for the government customer
- Develop weekly and monthly activity reports addressing completed and planned activities for the team
- Work closely with the Government customer to ensure project requirements are completed
- Perform Systems Administration tasks to safeguard the security and configuration of systems and information assets by protecting against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction
- Manage information systems configurations and security, including disaster recovery and database protection
- Perform technical support for development, operation, management, and enforcement of security capabilities for systems and networks
- Identify, report, and resolve security violations
- Evaluate IT infrastructure in terms of risk to the organization and establish controls to mitigate loss
- Establish DoD system plans and administer the overall policies, goals, and procedures for the Systems Administration functions
- Implement systems configuration and security policies and procedures, ensure network (LAN/WAN, telecommunications, and voice) security access, and protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction
- Provide consultation on complex projects and be a top-level contributor/specialist in the IT department
- Determine and recommend improvements in current risk management controls and implementation of system changes or upgrades
- Work with end users to determine configuration needs, implement policies or procedures, and track compliance
- Work with JITC IAM to ensure JITC operational and test infrastructures meet DISA and DoD connection policies
- Provide DETF Systems Administration IAW DoD, NIST, DISA, and JITC directives, guidance documents, and instructions
Qualifications / Experience:
- Current Secret or higher clearance
- Master’s degree in IT or related field and 4+ years of hands-on Systems Administration experience with DoD IT/Communications Systems. Equivalent experience/education will be considered in lieu of Master’s degree.
- Knowledge and experience implementing the DoD defense in depth architecture; capabilities associated with the DoD architecture; and IA/CND Policies and Procedures.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
- Hands on IT server systems administration experience in working with at least two of the following: Microsoft Server 2008 or 2012; Red Hat; VMware; Linux; Unix or Oracle
- Experience maintaining DETF laboratory systems and network documentation
- Experience using the DoD VMS tool and applying systems and server STIGs based on Category Priority
- Experience developing a systems configuration and Information Assurance (IA) posture before and during the test event In Accordance With (IAW) DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT) policy
- Ability to articulate and implement DISA, DoD, and JITC connection and security procedures and requirements
- Experience designing and implementing a testbed/laboratory infrastructure methodology that can be used to assess Federal, DoD IT systems, software, and applications
- Familiarity with the DoD STIG process and applying critical patches as they apply to the IT network equipment and configurations
- Willing and available to travel up to 10% of the time
