General: Seeking Native linguists in Romanian, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Hebrew, Canadian French, German, Spanish, and Greek. Job Description: We are currently supporting a commercial client in the rapidly evolving Electric Vehicle industry, providing translations of marketing material, instructions, directions, and other web/online communications for use in foreign countries and by foreign visitors to the US. Translated material includes Multimedia Messages and emails, and our Language QA Professionals review machine translated web and e-documents for accuracy, correctness, and commonly understood translations.
Translate from English to the target language: texts, emails, and documents such as equipment instructions and terms and conditions.
Perform QA/editing/approval of machine translated web page/site material with the goal of assessing the linguistic quality and understandability according to context and target audience. The process is to ensure the English to target language translation did not alter or misrepresent the document/site’s original content while maintaining the new language’s proper grammar, sentence structure, and comprehension.
Maintain/convey the client’s style, tone, and intent of the materials while considering differences of culture and dialect – for example, “Charge On!” in English could mean “charge your phone”, “charge your credit card”, or “charge yourself with good sleep” – our translators/QA professionals must be able to determine the intent from context. The finished document should read as if it had originally been written in the target language for the target audience.
Absolute attention to detail regarding punctuation and grammar.
Respond to QA assignments within specified timelines.
Track all work via electronic timesheets.
Bi-directional fluency (English to target language/dialect and target language/dialect to English).
Prior translator/QA experience.
Language Translators/QA Professionals work from home and supply own IT infrastructure (i.e., computer, MS Office, internet connectivity) necessary to complete tasks. Ability to use MS Office efficiently, to include Notepad or equivalent.
Ability to work independently.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent/higher degree from Native country.
Basic knowledge of website design and recognition of html coding (do not need to know HTML, just recognize it to ensure coding is not accidentally translated).
Have a working knowledge of technical terminology/legal terms, or have the ability to independently research unfamiliar terms as necessary.
